Running the full sample set with all three mic positions is actually 18Gb big though! you also the 48 samples 3 times for different mic positions, close, near and far which you can then blend to get a big concert hall sound, a small studio sound or in between. The big piano sample banks have the necessary samples to include string resonances etc, for example the black-grand has 48 samples per note, 24 pedal up and 24 pedal down to include sympathetic resonances etc. I mentioned fxpansion in my other post, thats wrong, the one I have is actually from sampletekk.

There's a store over here that still has B4-II and Elektrik Piano from NI for about £65 each, but I don't honestly think I'd get any better sounds out of these than what I already have, especially as I already have the clavinet.ĮDIT - I will definitely stick with Lounge Lizard over Mr Ray and Mr Tramp, now that I know how to get round the bug with the sustain pedal (see post #10). I'm going to dig the old Mr Ray and Mr Tramp free versions out of my VST folder and give them a try again.ĮDIT - just realise I already have the NI Clavinet sound in with the free Kontakt and Kore players. On the other hand, Mr Ray only does Rhodes, and the NI instrument also does Wurli and a killer clav (I've heard a few people comment on this). I've tried the freebie and it's good, but I like the sound of the snazzed up Mk II version. So in that sense, I'd prefer Mr Ray to NI's Elektrik Piano. I like modelled instruments rather than sampled, they just seem more realistic to me, not to mention the lower system resource usage. It's a shame, because otherwise it's perfect for me. I'll be after a refund if there's no fix for this. At least one guy on there got his money back. Sounds like an ongoing problem according to one thread on their forum. I've just discovered the bug with the sustain pedal - yes, it's still there! This is likely to make the thing unusable for me, I'm afraid.
